Cortland, NY November 6, 2020 — American Vintage Productions (AVP) today announced a new partnership
with X101 Always Classic and the Cortland Main Street Music Series to produce and broadcast a weekly,
hour-long radio program featuring local and regional musicians as well as biweekly video webcasts of the
interviews and performances recorded in-studio at Rose Hall in Cortland. CNY Music Now will premiere on
Sunday, November 8th at 8 p.m. on X101 Always Classic 101.5FM WXHC with subsequent video
webcasts on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8pm each week. The series is presented by CFCU Community
Credit Union with additional support from the Dan and Rose McNeil Foundation .
“We successfully partnered with AVP to simulcast Cortland Radio Porchfest in August,” noted Mike Eves, VP
of Sales and Operations for X101. “The positive response from the community and the artists made this new
program a no-brainer.”
CNY Music Now will feature two musical guests every Sunday evening and combine live performances,
interviews and album cuts, providing fans an inside look at the artists and their music. Video footage from the
radio show recording sessions will be broadcast on Facebook every following Tuesday and Friday.
“Mike and X101 have long been advocates for the local and regional music scene and we’re excited to partner
with them,” commented AVP founder Chris Merkley. “Without a way to present the Cortland Main Street Music
Series this year, it was a natural progression for all our organizations to collectively work together to present
this new series. We believe that this is one more step in all our efforts to expand the audience for regional
musicians.”
The new series comes on the heels of AVP’s first season of American Vintage Live, a weekly series of live
streams featuring local and regional musicians that American Vintage broadcast in the Spring and Summer of
2020, following shut-downs of indoor live music events.
“AV Live built a solid fan base during its initial season over the summer,” noted Merkley. “With cooler weather
and less outdoor entertainment options, we feel a twice weekly show will be well received.”
CNY Music Now will be hosted by Charles Walton as well as feature the work of artist and musician Molly
Reagan Andrejko. Inspired by the season’s theme of Windows, a look inside the current state of music in CNY,
Andrejko will create and hang one new window frame painting each week until a colorful mosaic of paintings
fills the stage set by the end of season.
CNY Music Now will debut on X101 Always Classic on Sunday, November 8 at 8pm and AV Live will
broadcast videos of CNY Music Now through Facebook Live on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. beginning
Tuesday, November 10th. The season will run 10 consecutive weeks through the end of the year.
