Bad Mama’s Blues Band is recording a full album at Moletrax Studios. Owner, Jeff Moleski, records to tape (SONY 24 track 2 inch analog for fellow gear nerds). This means that getting the right take is crucial. It’s a great fit for a band that sounds best live and wants to keep that feel on the album. The control room with a 72 channel Neve VR is quite amazing. The album is the band’s second release and first full length album. It will be titled “Stepping on Broken Glass.”
The 2018 SAMMY Award Winning Bad Mama’s are Emily Pastuf, Jeff Swidowski, Rob Zaccaria, Will Fuegel and Zak Masoud. Pastuf and Swidowski both take on vocals. The band is reminiscent of 60s and 70s blues rockers with their sound, looks, and energy. They do serious justice to covers and originals alike.
Festival appearances this year include a debut at Sterling Folk Fest and a return to A Lovely Time Festival. Give their Facebook page a like and keep an eye on the CNY Alive calendar for upcoming gigs.
