“I’m not a rapper. I’m an activist,” Jack Brown sang to a peaceful crowd of 700+ people at the second annual Sophistafunk festival. This event was an all around success. Beak & Skiff’s Apple Hill Campus and 1911 Tasting Room was the perfect venue for cooler temps and Sophistafam’s warm vibes. It was a family friendly outdoor event combining the brew fest with live music and art. Congrats on another event bringing diverse bands, fans and artists together.
Big Sexy and The Scrambled Eggs, The Blind Owl Band, Funky Dawgz and Sophistafunk performed while Yegor Mikushkin and friends continued painting a wall mural. Drew Shoup from The Print Hub was creating shirts on location. Funk ‘n Waffles and Beak & Skiff had enough food options to keep everyone going over the 6 hour fest. Over 20 craft breweries provided samples during the first half of the day. 1911 Taste Room had mixed drinks and ciders for the non-beer drinkers.
The free after party took place at Funk ‘n Waffles with locals All Poets and Heroes and The Kris Lager Band of Nebraska.
