BSG Never Gonna Learn CD Release

BSG released their debut album, Never Gonna Learn, on Wednesday with a party at Funk ‘n Waffles. The evening started with a Led Zeppelin Tribute by BSG followed by Chiggin. Then BSG played the new album in entirety. More mosh worthy tunes ensued late into the night. Max Puglisi was in town from Boston making the funky Chiggin reunion possible. That wasn’t the only noteworthy reunion of the evening. We also saw special appearances by Spring Street Family’s Ryan Vendetti and Dan McCollum.

I’m okay calling these guys my friends. I mean they warmed up with a Led Zeppelin set. It was the night before Thanksgiving, dubbed Drinksgiving. BSG (Ben Blujus, Sam Roux, Gavin George) can party and brought insane energy all night long. The place was literally hopping. Lots of familiar faces showed up to support the boys. It was a great holiday kick off.

Never Gonna Learn consists of five original songs. I got a head start reviewing the master out of Brett Hobin Studios. It is everything I expected BSG to be capable of. Blujus wrote the music and the lyrics. There is a certain genuine truth in the lyrics I appreciate. It’s hardcore and sincere. Blujus has screaming guitar solos balanced out by Roux’s badass bass and George’s powerhouse drumming. It has a Headbangers Ball feel. My initial favorite was Witches but everytime I listen I like one then another. If you’re a fan of Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Soundgarden or White Zombie this will mesh perfectly into your favorite playlist.
