DESCRIPTION:Through the support of a Westhill Educational Foundation Grant\, Raul Midón and the Raul Midón Trio will join us at Westhill High School on Tuesday\, April 14th to share and inspire more than 80 Westhill jazz education students in grades 7-12 in an afternoon of masterclass clinics to include full ensemble work and improvisation sessions. All OHMS and WHS students and faculty will also have a chance to experience Raul Midón in concert!\nThis grant project will culminate in a final public performance Tuesday evening featuring all Westhill Instrumental Jazz Ensembles and a special finale performance by the Raul Midón Trio. The concert begins at 7:30pm in Haws Auditorium at Westhill High School. All Westhill community members\, including you and your family\, are invited to attend our evening concert\, free of cost! DESCRIPTION:The final #JazzbyTheLake of the Spring schedule showcases Monk Rowe’s Five Families Ensemble.\nDirected by Monk Rowe\, The Five Families Ensemble stretches the boundaries of traditional chamber ensemble combining sounds from each of four instrument groups– brass woodwinds\, percussion\, and strings\, with the fifth contribution from the human voice. Their repertoire is arranged specifically for the group\, and ranges from Beethoven to Brubeck to the blues as well as original compositions.
