Throughout the Northeast they have shared their unique blend of acoustic covers with hundreds of thousands of people. Chris & Terry began performing together in the summer of 1992 where they met as undergraduates at LeMoyne College in Syracuse\, New York.\nTheir repertoire includes something for everyone with covers by contemporary artists such as Dave Matthews\, Pearl Jam and U2\, as well as older favorites from The Beatles\, Led Zeppelin\, The Doors and everything in between. With Chris’ warm vocal melodies and Terry’s mastery of the acoustic guitar\, along with a quick witted and an entertaining fast paced show\, they have been on tour and entertaining for over three decades together. Chris & Terry truly provide music and entertainment that everyone can appreciate and enjoy.\nBreakout Sessions / Group Workshops:\nTo derive the most benefit from these breakout sessions\, please bring your acoustic guitar to the meeting with you. No one is ever forced to play\, but\, due to the no pressure\, welcoming vibe of Guitar League meetings\, most long time members of GL will tell you they are glad they had their guitars with them at their first and all subsequent Guitar League meetings.\nBreakout Session Details:\nRookies and Rusties Session:Jimmy Flynn will be leading this breakout session where those in attendance learn to play and sing songs in a group setting. This is a great way for participants to learn several songs each month that they can add to their own personal song book. This month we will be working on the following 7 songs:Last Kiss-by The Cavaliers / Pearl Jam (Key of D)\, Act Naturally by Buck Owens / Ringo Starr (Key of D)\, Traveling Man by Ricky Nelson (Key of D)\, I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash (Key of G)\, Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms (Key of A)\, Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley (Key of D) and Rocking Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee (Key of C). Jim sent the song sheets out to those on the GL Google Group list on October 28th. There will be a limited number of the song sheets available at the meeting for those joining us for the first time.\nSong Circle Session: Bob Raymonda will be leading / moderating our song circle. This is a great session for those who want to play open mics\, prepare for professional performing gigs or who just want to share their music (either cover tunes or originals) with others in the circle. If you want others in the circle to accompany you on any of your songs\, please bring copies of your song sheet / lead sheet to shared.\nJeff Stanton will be teaching a sesson for those interested in starting tp learn a fiddle tune for guitar using simple tabs. This session is suitable for all skill levels.\nSo there you have it … a full and entertaining agenda for our November Guitar League meeting if there ever was one. His fifth proper EP—and his final release before putting out his long-awaited debut album—finds the Cleveland-hailing singer-songwriter embracing the music that he grew up with and digging deeper than ever into his own personal experiences. The result is an exciting new chapter for Kennyhoopla\, and it’s only the beginning. \nThis new collection of music is the culmination of Kennyhoopla’s journey so far and follows this past spring’s rebirth // renaissance EP this past spring\, a release that represented “a new beginning” for Kenny as his inaugural release on the Orchard. If that EP took inspiration from vintage-classic acts like the Drums and New Order\, then conditions of an orphan// dives deep into the buzzsaw indie rock sound of the 2000s—think the Rapture’s spiky rhythms and Franz Ferdinand’s suave effervescence. \nWith a new sound comes new collaborators\, including Paramore drummer Zac Farro\, who handled production across conditions of an orphan// and laid down some sticks skills in his Nashville studio for “orphan//.” “I brought him that song and he made it sound even more like an actual song\,” Kenny marvels. Production extraordinaire Mike Elizondo (Turnstile\, 50 Cent) also assisted in production duties during conditions of an orphan’s creative process\, contributing to “mona lisa we miss you//” and “too many jocks turned rockstars//”: “He was like\, ‘Send me all the ideas you have right now\, whether you like them or not—and we’ll pick which ones I think have the most potential.” \nTo hear Kenny tell it\, the creation of these songs and subsequent collaborations was re-energizing for his artistic spirit. “It’s like I’m back on my feet for the first time and standing up to fight again\,” he says. But even as he exhibits boldness\, there’s vulnerability; behind the driving dance-punk of “orphan//” —as well as the EP title itself— is a gesture towards his mother’s passing three years ago\, as well as ruminations on isolation and the act of finding yourself while also yearning to be supported. “I felt the strongest about the song from the start. It’s about wanting to pick someone up and help them—but there’s no single way to grieve. There’s no exact process for it\, and sometimes the puzzle pieces just don’t fit. It has made me feel very depressed\, but I have to somehow power through and be ready to fight again\, even when your fucking arms are broken.” \n“A lot of the time\, I just feel very alone\, like an orphan\,” he adds. “I’m just trying to find a home\, literally and metaphorically—as a person\, and as someone in the music industry. I’m trying to see where I fit in\, given the circumstances of life that everyone has to go through.” \nIndeed\, conditions of an orphan// stands as a soul-searching survey of where Kennyhoopla’s been—as well as where he’s looking to go next\, pointing the way towards his full-length debut and the continued maturation of his artistic perspective. “I’ve spent the last three years of my life reflecting on my career in the industry\,” he says. “I’ve previously restrained myself from talking about deeper issues in my life—trying to compartmentalize my experiences.
