SUMMARY:MNL: MONDAY NIGHT LIVE!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 15th session of the Syracuse Actors Studio which will be MNL: MONDAY NIGHT LIVE! It’s our own foray into the world of sketch comedy inspired by none other than the great SNL/Saturday Night Live show. Special thanks to SAS member Steve Suppa for the idea for this one.\n-We will be at Safe Space in Downtown Syracuse: 120 E Washington Street\, Ste 601\, Syracuse\, NY 13202.\n-We will break up into teams and have an hour to prepare comedy skits. Sketches can be either original or imitate SNL or other comedy you’ve seen. You are welcome to write some in advance or just come up with them on the spot with your team.\n-The show will be recorded in its entirety and put on our YouTube channel @SyracuseActorsStudio. We are looking into actually streaming it live\, but no promises.\n-The Great Jay Merante of Jay Merante Comedy will be our celebrity host and give the monologue. He’s taking Walton Goggins’s place who unfortunately was double-booked that evening.\n-Laura will be leading our Weekday Update (inspired by the SNL Weekend Update) and will possibly have a special guest and definitely have a special announcement. If you have ideas or want to participate in this segment\, please contact Laura: lastisser@gmail.com.\n-We are also accepting (a limited number of) pre-taped sketches. Contact Joe if interested.\n-We are looking for a musical guest for this show. If anyone is interested or knows someone who would like to perform\, let Joe know (jcunningham3021@gmail.com).\n-We will be skipping monologues this session because most of it is performance-based and we need all the time we can get to prep for it. Monologues will resume next session.\n-As always\, at the end we will have a small amount of time for announcements if anyone wants to plug a show\, announce casting\, or the like; with time after to network and socialize.\n-And don’t forget\, if you wanna stay after to act in some comedy videos Jay Merante will be filming SAS After Hours sketches for his YouTube channel: Jay Merante Comedy- please like and subscribe!\n-We will as always have a hat out for donations.\n-We will meet at 7PM at Safe Space to socialize until we begin. Someone will be at the front entrance to greet you approx. 6:45 PM until around 7:15.
