Joey Marcus Comedy

Joey Marcus is a long-time SAS member and also stand-up comedian with extensive experience in improv, juggling, and comedy. He will be giving us a Stand-Up Comedy seminar both instructional and with exercises. We are so excited to have him teach us!

It’s our 2nd Birthday! Come celebrate with us. We will be having a pizza party and cupcakes thanks to Solon Quinn Studios and our actors Dave Spiro & Brian Piccioni acting in one of their commercials recently. Our birthday party will be after the seminar but pizza will be available at 7PM.

We have a new home! We are so excited and grateful to call The Palace Theatre our new home for SAS. The Palace is located in Eastwood, Syracuse: 2384 James Street. See parking instructions below. Please help us make the place better than we found it. We are so excited to be able to hold SAS in this beautiful historical theatre!

Performances are back! We have a few signed up but are still looking for a few more to fill our half-hour slot. If interested in performing a monologue or scene (that you select and organize), please email Joe Cunningham jcunningham3021@gmail.com your name and headshot to reserve your spot. Spaces are limited but we will try to accommodate as many as we can. We love performances! We ask that they be not over approx. 3 min per so we can do as many as possible; scenes can go a bit longer.

And as always, at the end we will have a small amount of time for announcements if anyone wants to plug a show, announce casting, or the like.

We will have SAS After Hours with Jay Merante of Jay Merante Comedy, please like & subscribe! It’s always a lot of fun and we encourage anyone who wants to stay after to join in the improv comedy to do so. Jay is also open to ideas for skits from actors.

Parking is available in several places: the lot behind the theatre, in the United Healthcare lot across the street, as well as street parking.

We will as always have a hat out for donations. We split our donations 50/50 with The Palace as our host, and use half to help us cover own expenses

Syracuse Actors Studio is always a free monthly meetup for actors where we learn from and practice acting with each other. Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend! Filmmakers, writers, playwrights, producers, casting agents, and observers are welcome as well.
