Tom Rush

To quote The Rolling Stone Record Guide: “Tom Rush is one of a handful of singers who helped alter the definition of folksinger in the Sixties…. ‘The Circle Game’ [which the Guide gave five stars] is a high-water mark, with songs by then-unknown Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor, as well as a standout original, ‘No Regrets.’ The atmosphere is exemplified by Rush’s version of Mitchell’s ‘Urge for Going.’ Its low-key, sparse arrangement characterizes the educated, wistful and warm style Rush had evolved.”

Today, Rush’s voice has grown even richer and more melodic with training, and his music, like a fine wine, has matured and ripened in the blending of traditional and modern influences. He’s doing what he loves, and what audiences love him for: writing and playing … passionately, tenderly … knitting together the musical traditions and talents of our times.

Doors open at 7:00. The music begins at 7:30.

The event features cabaret-style seating at candlelit tables. Desserts, soft drinks, and coffee and tea are available for purchase.
