Chris Cornell Tribute – Fundraising Success

Dubbed Temple of the Sound Slave by Ben Wayne the evening consisted of songs by Chris Cornell with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave and his solo work.

BSG paid tribute to Chris Cornell shortly after his death for suicide awareness and mental health.  That show was a memorable event and Ben Blujus expected this one to be awesome as well.  “Everyone donates their time for charity. It’s cool, It’s a great thing,” Ben Blujus.  Many of the guest performers are new to this tribute. Nadine Prince, Connor Campbell, Kevin Metzger, Ben Wayne, Shane Stillman, Mike Spadaro, Ryan Vendetti and Jamie Cunningham joined BSG on stage. Blujus said they learned seven new songs this year and it was a lot of “tears, sweat and time.” Guitarist Kevin Metzger said he was “thrilled to be a part of this.”

Saturday night BSG (Ben Blujus, Sam Roux, and Gavin George) and friends raised one thousand dollars for Frank Cutie. Cutie had surgery for a brain tumor then suffered a stroke and is continuing treatments and therapies. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to be at the show but we all hope he sees the pictures and videos, hears the stories and can feel all the love that was in the room.

“I’ve known the Cutie Family since I was 3 or 4 years old and they’ve always been absolutely beautiful people. This is an opportunity to give back and just to have a party,” Sam Roux.  “I wanted to throw Frankie a party to forget about things. He was a musician. It sucks he can’t be here but we can give him something, ” Ben Blujus.  “I like that we’re doing something for someone else to close out the year,” Gavin George.
