Dandelion Music Festival

Zash Global Media Throws an EDM Fest Downtown

If you build it they will come.

Zash co-founder Ted Farnsworth threw a Miami style party in the heart of Cuse and the underground scene showed up. Facebook didn’t show many attendees RSVPing but their Eventbrite site claimed 6k free tix were reserved. This goes to show that target audience isn’t using Facebook and there are other ways to promote shows. The VIP section was also at capacity. This was a fully funded event by Zash Global Media and their company Lomotif (a Tik Tok rival). Farnsworth is from the area and recently opened Zash’s headquarters in Syracuse. If you attended the rave you now recognize their company names. Over 2 million viewers watched the livestream. You can find it here. Multiple drones whizzed around filming the scene. Top notch stage, light and sound production teams were hired. Zash put together this rager of a party in about  a month. The Dandelion Music Festival “was nothing like Syracuse has ever seen,” Farnsworth told me. He was right. It was amazing, It was one of the most professionally run shows I’ve attended.

The festival featured local performers, Burning Man art exhibits and Cirque de Solei acrobats. There were robots, trampoline artists, hoopers and dancers. The closest thing we have around here is a holiday event at Turning Stone’s Lava Nightclub. World renowned DJs Nicky Romero, Deorro, Kryoman, EC Twins, SVNF8, Tadeo Fernandez and Talia Eisset performed.  Free light sticks and merch were handed out. An after party followed the event back at the headquarters. All in all it was an impressive and  smooth running show.

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'FREE Event DANDELION MUSIG FESTIVAL SATURDAY JOcT 2 4:00 11:00 PM CLINTON SQUARE ŞYRACUSE, NY NICKY ROMERO deorro KRYOMAN SVNF8 EC TWINS TADEO FERNANDEZ TALIA EISSET ZASH'

The security and staff were notably on point. The VIP area included a rooftop view constructed for the day. The funky sea of people seemed happy and safe.  It was definitely a different kind of downtown festival. It was great to see the diversity in the crowd. I can only hope we have more events like this bringing the college students out and opening minds to performance art and electronic music.

If you missed it follow Zash for news on more events so you don’t snooze on the next one. Enjoy my photos from the day.
