Wow, there has been a lot going on this month. I hope you’ve gotten out to enjoy some entertainment.
This coming weekend is 420 and it looks like most venues have a show going on to celebrate. Here are some things to consider attending.
Tuesday

Join us for an Artist Talk by Sofía Luz Pérez. Her exhibition, “My Shadow is My Teacher” is on view at ArtRage until May 18, 2024.
Sofía Luz Pérez is a Mexican American artist born in Austin, Texas in 1989, and raised in central New York. Sofía’s work deals with the experiences she’s had with healing illness, and by the healing of generational family trauma. She began drawing self-portraits to document the healing process in the aftermath of a diagnosis of a health condition.
Pérez’s work has been published in the Women Artists’ Datebook by the Syracuse Cultural Workers and in the Great Lake Review in Oswego, NY.
She has shown her work in numerous juried shows including at Soho20 Gallery in New York, NY, ArtRage Gallery in Syracuse, NY, the Point of Contact Gallery in Syracuse, NY, Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, in Cazenovia, NY, the Art Association of Oswego, NY, and the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, NY. Her work was accepted into the Best of SUNY show 2022 and won Best in Show.
Wednesday

Stout Beard Brewing Company presents Worm Burners on Wed, April 17th at 6pm.
Dan had his debut at Stout Beard Brewing on 4/3 and didn’t disappoint.
This time with his buddy Jamie as the Worm Burners, they’ll take you on a journey of classic covers in southern soul, rockabilly, stadium rock and a little country.
If you want to be wowed by local CNY talent come to this show and you will not be disappointed.

Sydney Irving is back at The Craftsman for an unplugged set 6pm.
Friday

Half Past Dead Trio is rolling into Shifty’s Friday night! With special guest Matt McIntyre on the hand drums! 8 pm.
Saturday

Count Blastula Trio makes their #JazzByTheLake debut on 4/20. Joining the trio special guest saxophonist Mike Dubaniewicz.
