Hilariously witty and unexpectedly relatable, Love, Loss and What I Wore is a sweeping chick flick for the stage. What makes this presentation so unique is Theatre Du Jour’s mission to cast engaging, local women to tell the story.

An Oswego-based company, Theatre Du Jour rose to the challenge of finding powerful yet relatable, local women to take part in this show featuring witty, lighthearted monologues in order to really connect with the audience and make them feel something special. Presented as an interactive reading, this production has all the ingredients of a one-of-a-kind experience.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore touches on important life experiences —like being a mother, picking a prom dress, buying your first bra, simply hating purses and why we only wear black. Based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.

Director Moe Harrington is excited to partner with Theatre Du Jour for a third time. More than her role as director to this talented group of women, Moe also looks forward to taking a part in the performance as one of the engaging characters.

“I’m excited to be working on stage with this group of talented ladies and celebrating my 57th on opening night,” said Moe. “Theater has given me life and I’d like to thank those who are supporting this endeavor.”

The search for empowering female role models who could bring this story to life led to the casting of brilliant women like Sistina Giordano and Katie Toomey.

With her degree in Fine Arts in Acting from Syracuse University, Sistina spent six years living and acting in New York City. She’s worked in various regional theaters in and around the New York Metropolitan area. In 2011, Sistina made her way back to the Syracuse area to pursue a career in journalism. You may recognize her from News Channel 9.

As Executive Director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Katie has an amazing ability to stay poised in challenging situations. Her expertise in communication and creativity made her a perfect candidate for a strong role in Love, Loss and What I Wore. Plus, she brings a fresh perspective to everything she does.

The production also features Tammy Wilkinson (President and Founder – Theatre Du Jour), Kerrie Webb (Executive Director – Oswego YMCA), Anne Fitzgerald (SALT and TANYS award winner, RN at the VNA of CNY), Stephanie Johnson (SALT award nominee, Teacher – OCO Head Start), Laura Serway – (Co-owner – Laci’s Tapas Bar), Lorna Oppedisaso (Editor – Syracuse Woman Magazine), Mae Harrington (Student at Emerson College, three-time Regional Shakespeare Competition Champion), Lilli Komurek – (SALT award-winning musical theater actress), and Karin Jean Leary (Owner – Karin Jean Total BODY Waxing).
