Modern Instincts High Energy EP Release Show for Alchemy

On January 31 Modern Instincts held an EP Release Party for Alchemy at Funk ‘n Waffles. About 100 fans showed up to see the band with special guests Chiggin and a surprise appearance by BSG. Sam Roux is in all three bands and had as many costume changes that night. This wasn’t the first time Roux played all night. BSG had their CD Release show with Chiggin the last time Max Puglisi graced us with his presence in Syracuse. However, this time you could find Roux behind the drum kit with Modern Instincts before returning to his usual bass position. The band wanted to recreate the EP as closely as possible live and had SU students, Jordan Bartel- Violin,
Josue Negrete- Viola, and Sara Potocsny- Viola, join in on one set. The show emphasized the band’s creative musicianship and guitar skills. They’ve got a lot of chemistry and a unique sound. Give it a listen:

Modern Instincts bio:
Modern Instincts is an alternative rock band based out of Upstate New York. Originally starting as a solo project by singer/guitarist Jason Tuori, the production from Jesse Gillenwalters (Basic Printer) and input from live band members grew a collaborative effort. To follow-up to the band’s debut album “Desiderata”, Tuori enlisted R. Aaron Walters (Early Bird Trio) for production. The result was “Alchemy EP”, a theatrical and ambitious record with roots in baroque and guitar rock.
