Just one week a,er commemora0ng the 55th anniversary of the Carpenters’ historic 1971 Nashville concert, Carpenters Legacy: Direct from Las Vegas brings the music, look and live-concert experience of Karen and Richard Carpenter to The Palace Theatre in Syracuse, New York on November 20. Direct from Las Vegas, Carpenters Legacy recreates the unmistakable sound, look and feel of Karen and Richard Carpenter’s legendary 1970s concerts back to the stage in a stunningly authentic live production.
Starring Sally Olson as Karen Carpenter and Ned Mills as Richard Carpenter, the show features beloved classics including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Yesterday Once More,” “Superstar,” “Close to You,” and many more—along with Karen’s famous drum solo and Richard’s dazzling classical piano feature.
This is more than a concert of Carpenters songs. It is a chance to experience the music as audiences did in the 1970s—from the vocals and arrangements to the costumes, staging and unmistakable chemistry of one of the most beloved musical duos of all time. Carpenters Legacy maintains a residency at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and has played to sold-out audiences at theaters, performing arts centers and casinos across the country. The production was selected as featured entertainment for both the Carpenters 50th and 55th Anniversary Celebrations, is a seven-time Best of Las Vegas winner and a two-time TripAdvisor 2 Travelers’ Choice Award recipient. In 2025, Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley proclaimed September 5 “Carpenters Legacy Day.”

BIOGRAPHIES
SALLY OLSON: Vermont native Sally Olson moved to Las Vegas in 2018 to further her
show, Carpenters Legacy. She is a cum laude graduate of Middlebury College and studied at Circle in
the Square Theatre School. Sally’s TV appearances include the CBS series HACK in 2004 and the pilot
episode of The Potwins in 2016. She starred in Widow, an award-winning short film that was praised
at both the Green Mountain Film Festival and the White River Indie Film Festival in 2010. Sally also
starred in the commercial Emily’s Bridge for Heritage Automotive Group, written and produced by
Mt. Mansfield Media, which was awarded the Vermont Association of Broadcaster’s “Television
Agency Produced Most Creative Commercial” of 2011. She debuted her Carpenters act in January
2015, and made her NYC debut at the Triad Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in April
2017. Sally moved to Las Vegas in April 2018 to further her show Carpenters Legacy.
NED MILLS: Ned Mills was born in Charleston, South Carolina and began playing piano at the age of
four. He’s entertained audiences in more than twenty countries and on three continents. After
receiving his Bachelor of Music cum laude degree in Jazz Arranging at North Texas State University,
he performed with many national acts, including Bobby McFerrin, Joan Rivers and Don Rickles.
Ned has served as musical conductor and arranger for The Stars of the Lawrence
Welk Show, Debbie Boone and The Shirelles. His film and TV credits include appearances
in Matlock (ABC), Against Her Will: The Carrie Buck Story (Lifetime TV), and the George Lucas
film Radioland Murders. He was the piano coach for Halle Berry and Eric Thal in Oprah Winfrey’s
production of The Wedding (ABC). Ned starred in “Piano Follies” on cruise ships and in Las Vegas,
where he was named “Most Likely to Exemplify the Spirit of Las Vegas” by the Las Vegas Chamber of
Commerce in 2000. In 2003, he performed “Rhapsody In Blue” at the Liberace Museum
on Liberace’s famous mirrored piano. Ned is currently the musical director, arranger and portrays
pianist Richard Carpenter in Carpenters Legacy with Sally Olson as Karen Carpenter.
