Grupo Pagán Brings Latin Grooves to July 20 Monday MusicConcert in Chaumont; Annual BBQ ‘n’ Blues Event Set for July 26

The feel-good vibe of Latin rhythms will be in the air when Grupo Pagán takes the stage at the Lyme Performing Arts Council’s next Monday Music on the Lake concert. The event takes place July 20 at 6:00 pm on the outdoor Hay Wagon Stage at the Chaumont Fire Hall on Route 12E. (Rain location: indoors at Chaumont Fire Hall.) Admission is free; donations are appreciated and will help fund the concert series. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department.

Grupo Pagán

Led by bassist/vocalist Edgar Pagán, Grupo Pagán plays a high-octane blend of Latin rhythms, jazz fusion, funk swagger, and blues grit. The Syracuse-based band also features Rhonda Arns (vocals), Pablo Arnau (percussion), Jim O’Mahony (guitar), Joshua Dekaney (drums), and Bill DiCosimo (keyboards). With influences including Santana, Shakira, and Sade, they offer a high-energy, intoxicating brew of sound. Their latest album Powerreceived a 2026 SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music) Award, a bronze award from the Global Music Awards, and was ranked #5 on the year-end Top World Music Chart for 2025.

The Monday Music on the Lake series will continue August 17 with the Big D Orchestra, a five-piece band from Central New York with a big sound they characterize as “funky, southern sweet-stuff.”

BBQ ‘n’ Blues: July 26

LPAC’s annual BBQ ‘n’ Blues event takes place Sunday, July 26 from 12-5 pm at the Chaumont Fire Hall, in conjunction with Lyme Community Days. Entertainment will be provided by The Lucky Ones, a dynamic swing/blues band led by Skip Murphy (harmonica) and Dave Schneider (slide guitar); and the Tas Cru Band, veteran musicians playing soulful roots music led by international touring and recording artist Tas Cru. The Chaumont Fire Department will begin serving barbecue at 12 noon, beer and other beverages will be for sale, and craft vendors will be on hand. Admission is free.

The non-profit Lyme Performing Arts Council (LPAC) is dedicated to providing live performances by skilled artists for the residents, both permanent and seasonal, of the Town of Lyme and surrounding communities. More information online at www.facebook.com/LymePerformingArts.
