Rock Blues alive with The Shylocks

Mark Yonnick, Ron Mirizio, Wayne Nichols and Mike Burns

The definition of a Shylock is a moneylender who charges an excessive fee; a loan shark. In Central New York a Shylock is a member of a great Rock N Blues band. They may be playing acoustic instruments but have the sound of a full rock band.
Mike Burns is backed by 3 fantastic musicians, playing tunes from BB king to … Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Aerosmith to ZZ Top. Johnny Cash, Bob Segar, and I was psyched to hear Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Curtis Lowe

Mark Yonnick can really shred with the best, clean strong leads and full body rhythm. Wayne Nichols is on Percussion, it may be a small drum set but he plays with perfect timing and sounds like a full rock drum set and to top it off he throws in great backup vocals. Ron Mirizio on bass fills the rhythm with a strong bass sound and harmonizing backup vocals. It’s always great to see our friend Mike Burns, who is a perfect front man for this Blues based band.
Great things happen when these 4 musicians find common ground. You don’t need to know the blues to feel their groove. Nobody in CNY should miss the Shylocks
