Root Shock Returns Home for Back to Back Sold Out Shows

You might hear Root Shock playing over the radio at Original Grain and Café Kubal. Jess Brown’s powerhouse vocals are unmistakable. The self titled album by Root Shock has seen enormous success locally and on the road. The band is currently ranked at #6 on the Relix Jamband radio chart. It was evident at the Middle Ages Brewery Festival this summer that the band was ready for the next level. The performances are polished, the dynamics spot on. They had an extremely busy year touring, playing festivals and have amassed a true following. That is apparent in the limited edition signed show posters, sharing of set lists, sold out shows, the crowd singing their original lyrics…It’s all happening.

Root Shock returned to Funk ‘n Waffles Syracuse for a double header September 29-30. Friday Old Deer Ensemble opened and Saturday Mosaic Foundation started the night off with a solid set. “It is incredible to be back at Funk and sell out both shows. They always say it feels like home,” Amber Messina, close friend of the band, shared.  Doorman Dusty Mihaich reported 232 tickets were sold Friday. It was a truly special event with familiar faces and new fans. Root Shock played two entirely different sets to adoring crowds. Many new tracks were featured at the shows.

Dan Pugh, who occasionally sits in on keyboards, commented on how much he likes playing and listening to Root Shock because of the positive message. Root Shock sings empowering songs about love, freedom and strength. The next album is tentatively scheduled for February. The band will be away from home touring the Northeast for the next few months. Bill Eppel, bassist, promises one or two local show announcements before the end of the year. Make sure you get your ticket ahead of time so you don’t miss out!
