Seattle Sons Tribute to Grunge Gods

Seattle Sons is a group of well known local musicians with impressive histories of their own. They came together to form a tribute to music they truly love.  When you see them play live the energy and joy is real. It’s easy to connect to this. If you grew up in the 90s or if you acquired a love of grunge these guys will not let you down. The band features members of Stone Soul Foundation, Brand New Sin, Country Swagg and Rattlebasket: Shane Stillman (vox), Kevin Dean (drums), Gabe Infantino (bass), and Jake Bunger (guitar).  The band recorded this demo at Moletrax. Here you record straight to tape. It gives the recordings a distinct sound. Owner, Jeff Moleski, worked with Smashing Pumpkins and many other big names in his day so it only made sense to team up on this project.

Bunger shines on the demo. He put a lot of work into choosing tones on guitar with aid from his pedals. Stillman hits notes we all wish we could. Not many can emulate Chris Cornell or Layne Staley as he can. The covers are a true tribute and would please the original artists and their hardcore fans alike. Infantino rocks steady and Dean is a legendary drummer in his own right. Together they bring the passion and energy to create legit 90s grunge nostalgia.

Alive (Pearl Jam) starts us off and is already enough to get you fired up. Rooster is next and keeps you singing along revisiting all your teenage angst. Fell on Black Days (Soundgarden) keeps the vibe going. You find yourself singing along to Interstate Love Song (Stone Temple Pilots) next only to realize you never really knew all the words. The demo ends with the 90s anthem Come As You Are (Nirvana). This is only a sampling of what the band has rehearsed since 2018. They play Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Foo Fighters, Temple of the Dog, Mad Season and more from bands who “exhibit the popular spirit of the era,” as their press kit states. If you’ve got requests send a message to their Facebook page. Listen to the demo here on their webpage!
