Shoulder-To-Shoulder at Shiftys With The Mere Mortals

The iconic Syracuse cover band “The Mere Mortals” packed Shiftys on a recent Saturday. Powerful singing, trumpet and tenor sax cut through the crowd noise. Mere Mortals played crowd favorites such as Counting Crow’s “Mr. Jones and Me,” Fleetwood Mac’s “ You Make Loving Fun” and Motown fave “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” kept the audience dancing and singing all night.

Mere Mortals have a well-established following. Couple that with the steadfast popularity of Shiftys, and you have a recipe for a shoulder-to-shoulder drinking and dancing crowd. Some dedicated patrons had to wait outside until enough bodies left to make room! Luckily the night was balmy and the music carried through the open doors!

Band members include Dan Finn, Al Cutri, Dave Allyn, Mark Kearns, Kristin Peenstra, Jonny Bristol, Win Price, Paul Becerra, and Maureen Henesey.
