For the uninitiated, “The Boneyard” is the outdoor patio of the venerable Syracuse Dinosaur BBQ. The Boneyard is as comfortable as hanging out in your best friend’s patio, with large picnic tables, a well-stocked bar, and ample dancing space. On a recent Thursday, the crowd grooved to a delightful mixture of classic oldies. The enthusiastic fans of The Barndogs enjoyed a beautiful late Thursday afternoon, refreshing beverages, and the best barbecue… Dare I say… In the world?
The description of Thursdays entertainment was poetic enough… “The Barndogs at the Boneyard.” But the poetry of Jim Morrison and The Doors dominated the evening. Throw in a little Uriah Heep and you have pleased everyone in the crowd!
Bassist Andy Comstock dominated on vocals the entire evening. Backing vocals by Mark Westers on guitar and Pete Szymanski on drums were served like sides in the barbecue platters that The Boneyard/Dinosaur are known for. Keyboardist John Kapusniak rounded out the sound of this talented group.
