(R)Evolution Syracuse is hosting the (R)elease Spring Art Show at The Gear Factory on the corner of Geddes and W. Fayette in Syracuse. The opening event took place Saturday with over 160 participating artists showing work floor to ceiling on two floors of the refurbished building. Ponchitos Food Truck, soon to be opening across the street, provided sustenance along with the (R)Evolution team’s own brews. Members of (R)Evolution are also in The Magnetic Pull . The Syracuse Nu-Post Rock band performed special live performances at the top of each hour in honor of their album release. Open gallery hours run May 13 through 17 6-9 PM.
Kevin Dean also held an open studio in the basement. Check out his Summer Drummer program. His new space is available for artists and musicians to rent hourly. Tours of the new 4th and 5th floor studio apartments with plenty of natural light, amenities, and opportunities to collaborate are ongoing with owner Rick Destito. The Gear Factory is a treasure for the city. There are many reasons to visit, stop in this week while the art is up for a real treat.
