The Full Boar Craft Brewery And Tap Room is tucked away in the Maines Plaza at 628 S. Main Street, behind the North Syracuse Applebees. Once you step inside, you are immersed in a classic brewpub setting… Games, containers of chips and snacks, heavy duty tables and stools, and an expansive bar with friendly and attentive staff.
You are welcome to bring your own food in, and it just so happens that a pizza parlor and Chinese restaurant are located within walking distance, across the plaza parking lot. I enjoyed vegetable lo mein while sipping on my Slow & Low nitro stout.
Most beverages are offered in 2, 8, 16, or 32 ounce portions for prices around $2-$10. We sampled several of their home-brewed beers, which were fantastic! They also offer choices from other brewing companies, as well as several wine options.
We were lucky to visit on any music night! Along with the fabulous beer choices and fun atmosphere, we were also treated to the energetic and enjoyable music of Steve Scuteri.
Steve entertained the crowd with acoustic performances of dozens of songs, including The Grateful Dead’s “Deal” and old time numbers like Jimmie Rodgers “Blue Yodel #9” and classic country like Merle Haggard’s “Swinging Doors.” Steve also played some unusual covers like “Lawyers, Guns and Money” and “Walking on the Moon”
Mike Gridley (mandolin)and Taylor Bucci (percussion) joined Steve onstage for a few songs.
Upcoming acts at Full Boar Can be found on our calendar
Steve Scuteri is playing Wednesday May 16th at the Hotel Syracuse from 5 – 7 and June 3rd at Shiftys from 7 to 10.
