Amanda Roger’s Series Returns with a New Location

SUB ROSA SESSIONS PRESENTS:
An exclusive performance with June Star (Baltimore) and Khalil Jade
– Sub Rosa Sessions is the revival of an intimate monthly concert series of the same name which ran for nearly 4 years in Syracuse, NY. Created and hosted by its original host, internationally acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Amanda Rogers, on Thursday, May 31 2024. The exclusive show features June Star from Baltimore, fronted by Andrew Grimm, and our own local artist Khalil Jade, with performances occurring from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Amanda Rogers’ main objective for the Sub Rosa Sessions is to shine light on talented local, original artists as well as some of the best ‘under the radar’ music from around the world.
This intimate and unique concert event takes place every last Thursday of the month from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in a hidden part of CommonSpace Montgomery.
Attendees are asked to meet at the Tectonic Hand sculpture in front of city hall in downtown Syracuse at 5:55 P.M. where they will be guided into the secret speak-easy style music venue.
A $30 admission will include an acoustic performance; libations and refreshments gratis; and a meet and greet with artists and fellow music lovers. ABOUT SUB ROSA
Sub Rosa (adj.): Happening or done in secret. It literally means “under the rose” in Latin. The rose, an ancient symbol for secrecy.
Sub Rosa Sessions formerly took place at SubCat Studios on S. West Street. In the spirit of Sub Rosa, the exact location of the music venue will not be revealed until the night of when attendees are led into the space. Sub Rosa is pleased to offer a unique and intimate listening experience to CNY in a new secret downtown Syracuse location with a fresh new team.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
This session features Baltimore-based Americana roots-rock band, June Star, fronted by Andrew Grimm whose evocative vocal stylings can’t be mistaken for anyone else’s. “Peerless writing, sheer dynamisms, and originality of everything.” Accompanied by one of the best pedal steel players tastefully supporting every turn of emotion Andrew brings.
Khalil Jade, a modern folk artist who sweetly and soulfully sings heart-centered originals leaving an impression on all who listen. Khalil Jade’s music serves as a beacon of positivity, seamlessly blending elements of folk, Americana, and blues into her captivating originals. Her songs feature soothing vocals and complimentary guitar melodies, paired with relatable lyrics that reflect upon life’s joys, struggles, and profound moments.
