The SAMMYS Awards Show is our annual celebration of the Syracuse area music scene. Each year, hundreds of local musicians and valuable members of the Syracuse music community attend the show to cheer on their friends and peers. Since the first SAMMYS was held at the Landmark Theater in 1993, The SAMMYS Awards Show has become the number one local music event in the Central New York Area It is with great regret that we are unable to celebrate the arts in person this year due to Covid-19. However, in true nature of show business THE SHOW MUST GO ON….

SUBMISSION & JUDGING PROCESS:
SAMMY awards are given based
on the judgment of submissions sent to the SAMMYS Board by musicians in Syracuse and the surrounding area. This year a record-breaking number of recordings were submitted.
Congratulations to the 166 artists that submitted 194 recordings! In times of darkness creativity flourishes. An independent panel of music industry professionals and educators from around the country, led by James Abbott, review the submissions and make their selections based on their merit within their genre.
