This killer lineup was a long anticipated show. Syracuse’s beloved Spring Street Family started the night off early at 8PM. It was the first time I’ve seen them on a big stage since the SAMMY Awards show last year. I was reminded of how bad ass they look all spread out on stage and how that fits their energetic performance. Ryan Vendetti, lead singer, rocked a new Root Shock shirt fresh off the presses. The Spring Street Family Band also has an impressive set of merchandise, including hot sauce named for their track “She’s Got Fire.” Their set included many well known originals. The band is currently fundraising for their next album and touring. See the Go Fund Me link below.
Danielle Ponder, of Rochester, played next with her band The Tomorrow People. They gave a positive and powerful performance to keep the good vibes going. Live painting added to the scene.
Root Shock headlined the event with special guests Chris Eves on keys and Emanuel Washington on drums. The room was overflowing with people and energy. There is a real community feel attached to all of these local musicians. Looking around the room you find a diverse crowd coming together for the same reason. The love and support for Syracuse music is real. Spring Street and Root Shock have extensive fan bases and popular songs. It’s really fulfilling to see the progress all around. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself and bring a friend or two! Check out the links below to get a head start.
