Based in Phoenix, NY, The Three Amigos can have their origins traced back to the mid 1990’s, when the three, plus drummer Tony Bullock, gigged around Central New York as Stumpy and the Screaming White Boys. Fast forward to 2018…
Wayne and Scott had been performing as The Bald Man Duo for a number of years, in between performing in other bands, as well as launching an electric three-piece band, but couldn’t find the right bass player. Ron, having been out of the music scene for a decade, returned to playing in 2014, complete with an endorsement deal, landing in Crimescene in 2017. One Sunday afternoon in the summer of 2018, the three met up at an open mic and played a few songs together for the first time since 1996. It went so well that two days later, the three convened in Scott’s studio to jam, just to see if there was some magic to recapture.
Two songs in, they looked at each other and knew they had the makings of something, so after a couple months of rehearsals, they amassed nearly 80 songs to choose from, and set about making a couple of open mic appearances to road test the new project. It’s taken just a couple of appearances to garner some favorable buzz and critical acclaim, as well as already booking several gigs around Central New York.
The premise is simple…. no pretenses, no rockstar attitudes, no hangups. Just three long-time friends playing music they love, and that hopefully their audiences will enjoy, from well-known classic rock favorites, to today’s modern country, to one-hit wonders, and everything in between, complete with unique newly-found harmonies, which have met with critical acclaim… check us out… we think you’ll like what you hear..
