We’ll warm up with deep listening\, breathing\, and exercises to open the voice and throat to sing. We’ll practice ‘music in motion’ and share the circle in improvised song. Their voices blend beautifully and their lyrical poetry is wisdom beyond their years.Jon Lunden is an independent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist\, most known for his indie-folk style. He has gained significant recognition since his 2024 debut release “Lucky Numbers” and his voice\, lyrics\, melodies\, and guitar picking are world-class.Pairing these three artists together for this one special night of heartfelt music is sure to be a highlight of the new year with an everlasting impression on our hearts and souls.\nSub Rosa\, literally means “Under The Rose” and the rose historically used to symbolize secrecy\, is a fitting name for these semi-private sessions which limit to 90 guests to attend. Sub Rosa Sessions uphold a truly unique\, high-end listening experience since it’s beginnings in 2012\, when it was founded and hosted by singer-songwriter Amanda Rogers for 4 years as a live in-studio recorded sessions concert. Attendees left the concert with a limited pressed album of the recording. The revival of the monthly series now commences at her new space in Downtown Syracuse\, Pink Rock Culture Co-op\, where this listening room concert is an immersive experience for the attendees and performers to connect and share in the live concert – hearing music the way the artist intended. DESCRIPTION:Rising singer-songwriter and global citizen Eli Lev is making the world a smaller place\, one song at a time. Eli pens lyrics and melodies for everyday enlightenment—songs that resonate because they’re heartfelt\, earthy\, and offer the wisdom he’s gained through lifelong travel and self-discovery.\nPrior to becoming a full time musician\, the Silver Spring\, MD native spent three years as an 8th grade English teacher on the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. The indigenous traditions he learned during this time are the inspiration for his Four Directions project. Just as each cardinal direction holds unique characteristics in the Navajo tradition\, so do each of the albums in Eli’s ‘Four Directions Project.’ Together\, the series imaginatively and intrepidly connects spheres and generations within a body of work that is irresistibly uplifting\, emotionally resonant\, and down-to-earth authentic.\nEli explains\, “We are surrounded by four directions\, and each has distinctive attributes\, powers\, and teachings according to Navajo traditions. For example\, because the sun rises in the east\, it is the first direction and source of new ideas and inspiration. With that in mind\, I started my EP series in 2017 with All Roads East\, echoing the sounds of my youth and upbringing (Alt-Country/Americana). I released Way Out West the following year\, where I experimented with the frontiers of folk tropes and melodies (Indie Folk). For 2019’s Deep South\, I went back to my southern roots with a truly modern and powerful sound (Folk Rock/Pop). DESCRIPTION:Sub Rosa Sessions is the long running intimate monthly concert series hosted by singer-songwriter\, Amanda Rogers\, since it’s inception in 2013. Now held at her Concert Listening room and creative gathering space – Pink Rock Culture Co-op\, This series always pairs fresh and seasoned sounds from around the globe and right in our own backyard.\nThis month features some incredible voices-\nChris Riffle has shared the stage with Patti Smith\, Death Cab for Cutie\, Blood Orange\, Joan As Police Woman; embarked on a national tour supporting Heather Nova; and toured Germany & Belgium. Chris is currently finishing up a new full-length album he recorded with his longtime friend and producer Jimi Zhivago… His other four studio releases have been in rotation at over 150 radio stations & featured on Sirius XM.\n“One of the more sophisticated singer-songwriters on the Lower East Side” – THE NEW YORKER\nBeautiful Losers are Reagan Guthrie and Jack Parrish. The two young artists are living in Syracuse NY and have been developing a reflective sound that has the power to transfix whoever is listening. Blending sparse arrangements with tight-knit harmonies\, their songs attempt to cut through to the truth of the heart. Their name can be attributed to the genius of Leonard Cohen\, whose oeuvre is a driving inspiration for the band. Though this is his first embarking on a solo music journey\, he remains an active member in rock bands GhostXShip\, Colder Weather\, Hell Yeah So What\, and was a member of the now inactive bands Caverns\, Trespassers\, and Of Fortune & Fame. His recent debut singles “Borrowed Time” and “The Great Anew” have garnered him a large listenership on Spotify and other music platforms. His Unique sound could easily be described as acoustic folk\, but with a deeper listen you hear hints of his heavy rock riffs and picking patterns translated to the acoustic guitar. This subtle and beautiful merging of genres makes for a lush and somber soundscape that perfectly supports his clear and airy tenor vocals.
