The McCarthy Mercantile has some events you won’t want to miss. A unique three night event celebrating Van Gogh is coming up at the end of March. Reserve your tickets here: We Should Gogh!
Michael John Heagerty tells us what to expect when we Gogh to the show at The McCarty Mercantile located below Wildflowers downtown:
“The idea is to create an immersive experience along with the screening. Each social distant café seat for two will include sunflowers, a custom starry night candle by Kingsley St. artisan soaps and artisan popcorn to enjoy. The film, the first of its kind, is fully painted and animated throughout detailing a character’s investigation into Van Gogh’s final days. We will project it on a 20’ inflatable screen and utilize custom designed lighting to enhance the viewers’ experience. We’ve also collaborated on a selfie-station installation that includes projection mapping of famous paintings by Van Gogh that guests will be able to interact with. Local art inspired by Van Gogh will be raffled off at each screening as well.”
Wildflowers and The McCarthy Mercantile have established themselves as the heart of Syracuse amongst local artists. The community can find all kinds of locally crafted gifts and attend various cultural events with a rotating schedule keeping it fresh.
“At the mercantile, we’ve got ongoing series like Crafted Underground featuring pop-up Vendors as well as future interactive and immersive screenings, sidewalk sessions featuring local musicians at Wildflowers and the highly anticipated return of roller buffet,” Heagerty said.
It’s really exciting to have a space where so many types of events can happen. Many different people team up to make these ideas come to life. I love seeing these visions take life. There is truly something for everyone. Be sure to like and follow Wildflowers and The McCarthy Mercantile to keep up and get involved. “Ryan Lynch, of Quantum Virtual Entertainment, and myself are the team behind this event. Ryan is currently working to launch a new projection mapping dining experience that will open in May on the Northside,” said Heagerty.
