Wildflowers Armory is a multi-vendor marketplace in the McCarthy
Building on the corner of South Salina and East Fayette Street. This newer location will be expanding to include the remodeled basement level for artist storefronts and a rentable event space. The sidewalk patio is open for live music and workshops.
Meet some of the artists:
Dan Bingham: I became an art vendor back when Wildflowers Armory was originally a pop-up shop under the name Infinite POP. I stuck with the shop as a vendor through its transition to a permanent shop and was lucky enough to be asked to join the board, helping to run the shop. I’m primarily an animal/nature inspired artist. I like to explore color, pattern, symbolism, and detail in mediums such as watercolor, colored pencil, pen & ink, and screen printing. I try to mix up my products every now and then but my art can be found mostly as originals, prints, magnets, handprinted clothing, handmade/printed pillows, and mugs/glasses. Wildflowers consistently features a wide variety of events including DIY art workshops, popup vendors and an ongoing music series all of which are posted on our social media accounts. Wildflowers is the perfect evolving space for local creatives and artisans. If you have an idea for an event or workshop you’d like to host or are interested in getting your stuff out to the local community as a vendor, Wildflowers Armory is the perfect welcoming space to spread your wings! Lisa Richards Kane: I became involved with Wildflowers when it was still The Infinite Pop, pop up art shop. Michael John Heagerty approached me with the idea of a permanent location to open a year round shop and I couldn’t have been happier. I am a co-owner and treasurer of the company. I’m a photographer who likes to find beauty in ordinary things. My camera is always with me so I’m always ready to find the unique views around me. Photography is my escape plan. When the world’s goings on get too overwhelming a therapy session behind the lens is just what the doctor ordered. I’ve been in love with photography for close to 50 years and I believe photography loves me back. Wildflowers is a group of amazing local people whose main goal is to make the world a more beautiful place by spreading our art and passions like the seeds of wildflowers.

Kara Daviau: Wildflowers Armory is a product of the artisan pop up shop, INFINITE POP. This shop would pop up in vacant spaces around downtown Syracuse for only a couple months at a time. Due to the demand of a permanent location, a handful of us artisans organized Wildflowers Armory. Myself along with Dan Bingham, Lisa Kane, Kent Terpening, Sarah Seib, Gina Mastropool, and Michael John Heagerty are all co-owners. I am an acrylic painter with a fascination with texture and a lens focused on abandoned spaces. Within the shop I sell a couple original works along with prints. I also have greeting cards, apparel, hats, mugs and such with my reproductions. We have a new Sidewalk Café with outdoor seating, funky plants and colorful dividers. Through the end of August we are hosting “Sidewalk Sessions,” live music Thursdays 4-6pm, Fridays noon-2pm, and Sundays 4-6pm.
I am a fine artist currently exploring my passion in Syracuse. NY. I have always had a fascination with texture and my current works continue this same thread. I work primarily in acrylic, though each finished piece may be considered mixed media. To begin my process, I first prepare my surface by combining a range in paper weight and texture (often vintage sheet music and/or book pages). At times I will even add drawing materials to the surface. A unique aspect of my paintings is that each piece is inspired by song. The melody and words evoke emotion and a connection to life experience. The lyrics, textures, and rhythm are mirrored visually in the works, while giving a new life and purpose to the forgotten spaces of CNY and beyond. We as a society have let these places fall. Times have changed from rebuilding, revitalizing, and holding value in stories and sentiment. These painting give these places a second life and a new light. These images allow for these places and their stories to be remembered. Facebook.com/karadaviaustudios

Alexis Emm: After following the ever growing artist collab that is Wildflowers via social media since its conception, we knew it would be the perfect place to showcase our small batch elixirs. We are excited to be a part of such an amazing community of creatives! We are new to WF so we haven’t solidified our roles quite yet, but are looking forward to settling in. AE Apothecary specializes in small batch, alkaline elderberry syrup, sea moss gel, skin rejuvenate & Gua Sha facial massage kits. Our syrup is vegan, contains no fillers, includes powerful ancient herbs like clove, ginger root & allspice berry. AE Apothecary has a limited edition, tart cherry & Elderberry Syrup blend coming soon! This blend will be offered exclusively at WF. We are a husband + wife duo (Johny & Alexis) & we are extremely connected to nature. Driven by this passion, we have been studying the healing properties of plants / herbs for years. Our collective knowledge, our intuition & a bit of trial & error have lead us to creating the powerful tonics we offer! WF is a magnificent collective of creatives that has blossomed into its own Cuse culture by inspiring the community & cultivating connection. Website: www.ae-apothecary.com
