Erie Canal Songfest- Sold Out!
Wednesday,July 30, at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Sorry, the Erie Canal Songfest is now sold out. We’ve filled the capacity of the Erie Canal Museum’s indoor venue. To those unable to attend, we hope you will look forward to the video by Syracuse native documentary filmmaker and photographer Ben Cleeton bencleeton.com. A crowdfunding link where you can support post-production work to help make that possible will soon be posted.
A Canal Bicentennial folk concert performed by Colin Aberdeen, Donna Dennihy, Merlyn Fuller, Colleen Kattau, Jack Manno, Jon Peterson, and Michael Messina-Yauchzy including favorite Erie Canal tunes & original songs by the artists and featuring the premiere of “An Erie Canal Trilogy” & “Crystal of a City,” new historical folk compositions by Michael Messina-Yauchzy recognizing the indigenous Onondaga Nation people and land in our shared history. A free concert (optional donations support the artists and event). Seating is limited, so please register for advance tickets.
This concert is part of the Museum’s larger Wednesday at the Weighlock event from 5-8PM. Explore the Erie Canal Museum, enjoy refreshments from Ippoliti Street Food, a cash bar, and a presentation on the modern Barge Canal System from Canal historian Duncan Hay as well.
This program is supported by CNY Arts, New York State Canal Corporation
