MAGA and ANTIFA take MDMA together

In this timely cabaret-style musical performance, multi-decade performing artist Brian Shapiro tells the story of an unorthodox study that attempted to find novel and compassionate ways to overcome the polarization gripping our world today.

At an undisclosed location on the shores of Lake Ontario, a group of researchers assembled a dozen people from the far reaches of the left and right, each of whom have a severed relationship with a friend, family member, or loved one with a diametrically opposed viewpoint. They were given a generous dose of MDMA (a.k.a. ecstasy) and over the course of several hours, discovered unexpected connections across a seemingly impossible divide.

These discoveries are now shared in a series of insightful, thoughtful, and sometimes humorous songs presented by Brian and the Philadelphia-based jazz combo, the Protasi-Hansen group. This is a show you don’t want to miss!
