New Music from Jeff Gordon- Local Boy

Local Boy from Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon, vocalist and guitar player for the CNY staple Hard Promises, has been in the studio recording an album of original music entitled Local Boy. With the help of local friends and national artists, Gordon will be releasing his solo endeavor on February 9th. We here at CNYAlive have been given a sneak preview.

Having been writing his own music since his early twenties, Gordon brings his considerable talents to the fore in this offering. He pulls from his own personal experience and years in the music industry. At times you can hear the influences of The Band and The Eagles, with a whisper from the ghost of Tom Petty, and a smattering of Deep Blue Something and the BoDeans. He seamlessly alternates from heart wrenching ballads such as Worth the Wait, to grinding, anthemic social commentary on Desperate Nation. The slide guitar in He Don’t Know perfectly complements the haunting lyrics of love, loss and redemption. Coming Back for You delivers a power-pop rocker, with meat-on-the-bone, hard charging rhythm guitar accompanied by a soaring lead. Gordon’s impressive vocal range is the common thread throughout the disparate lyrical themes.

The album will be released on Tuesday, February 9th on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Google Play, Tidal and more. There will also be a limited number of CDs available in the near future. A video for Coming Back for You, which was directed and produced by Michael Frisina (2 Bros. Studios) will be released on YouTube to coincide with the album release.
