A live-stream concert and new single mark the 2020 Acoustic Guitar Project
in Syracuse.
This is a good week for singer songwriter Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers. He releases a fresh new tune and shares the annual songwriting project. The showcase gets international participation and attention. This year he’s highlighting talented local teens through a livestream concert Friday evening. Just look at all those autographs on the guitar. These teens are in good company and carrying on the legacy. You can find previous year’s songwriters here.
The Acoustic Guitar Project is a global music platform—and concert series—that
inspires musicians to write and record a song in one week on the same guitar.
The project began in Syracuse in 2014, curated by Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers. To
date, 40 songs have been written on the Syracuse guitar.
For 2020, the Syracuse project spotlights the next generation of
songwriters—ranging in age from 15 to 22. All the songwriters will perform their
project songs, and more, in a special live-stream concert on November 20.

This week, Rodgers also released his own project song, “Till I’m Alone with You,”
as a single. He recorded the track in a socially distanced outdoor live session
with his band—Wendy Sassafras Ramsay on harmony vocals, Josh Dekaney on
percussion kit, and Jason Fridley. Engineer Jeremy Johnston captured the band
performing in Fridley’s backyard next to a chicken coop, as seen in the official
video. It is available on all streaming platforms.
