The Rebel Evolves into a Fully Dedicated Streaming Station

Rebel Radio will evolve into a fully dedicated 24 hours of music, streaming station through our website,

FROM Dave Frisina’s Facebook Post:

I love radio. Since my first transistor radio. From my first show on the college radio station at Cortland St. to my current position at The Rebel. I’ve had to adjust along the way from 2 turntables (and carts), to CD players, to hard drives, and now to streaming. As you know the dial position (105.9) was sold to another group, BUT, Rebel Radio will evolve into a fully dedicated 24 hours of music, streaming station through our website,

www.therebelrocks.com. We’re Also available streaming through our phone app (The Rebel Rocks) and other smart speaker devices (Amazon Echo, Google Home..) We’re moving to where the technology is Already in play and Continues to expand. Thanks to Cumulus Syracuse, I’ll be programming the station using the same studio, resources, and Sales team that we currently use. And yes, Soulshine and Soundcheck will remain as “live” shows that I will host on Sundays. This will enable me to stay in Syracuse and still be connected to the music. I’ve been on the ground floor for start-ups at Cortland (WSUC), 95X in ‘78, and The Rebel in 2012. This is the Next step. As a start-up, our commercial breaks will be limited to 2 minutes which means More music every hour. All of this is possible because of the incredible response and support of the community who have demonstrated through emails, messages, and calls that you wanted to keep the Rebel brand alive. The music will continue to be familiar but a bit more adventurous ???? and Local music will remain in every hour. This transition is underway and the exact date will be announced soon, towards the end of this Month. We’ve got less than 3 weeks to spread the news so I Really appreciate any SHARES. . Thanks for keeping me in this crazy business.
